Being A Girly Girl

Michael Jackson, THIS IS IT

Michael Jackson, THIS IS IT

Well, growing up in the 70’s made this Girly Girl a huge Jackson fan and being the disco Queen that I was, Michael Jackson surely was a favorite!  I am a vocalist so I was always singing and dancing to his many hits.  I think I still have a couple of cassettes around!

I watched, well listened to this link for This Is It and I was blown away.  The voice sounds like the Michael from 15-20 years ago….so much so that I had to listen.  It is almost like he never left.

I know some of you have controversial views about MJ, but I really like his music and have for a very long time.  America has truly lost a very important and talented piece of our musical history.  Rest in peace Michael Jackson and my God bless your children!

And in ABC’s The Bachelor news, well all I can say is YES, YES and another YES!  I thought Jillian was a fool for sending Jake Pavelka

home but I suppose it all turned out well for her and Ed.  I liked Jake from the first moment I layed eyes on him…..oops…… I mean saw him in the introductions, fresh from the first limo ride.  This Girly Girl sure appreciates a fine young man who is respecful, gentlemanly and a little bit of eye candy!  I am now glad that Jillian didn’t pick him because I ….WE will get to look at him for many more episodes of the Bachelor.

To my beautiful, absolutely gorgeous, single daughter, Gabrielle Howard….did you ever contact ABC like I told you to?

And it  looks like this coming January in Saginaw, Michigan will display temperatures a little warmer than normal.  Talk about melting some snow!!  Al Gore has it all wrong, this global warming is all due to the airing of  The Bachelor during the peak winter months!  But then again, how in the world would he know!  Are all my Girly Girls going to watch with me?

{October 8, 2009}   Fashion in Detroit

Wow, what a great week I had last week.  At A Girly Girl Boutique, we were so busy after the fashion shows for the WIOG Family Fun Fest and then I received an email to be a guest of Kevin Christiana at the first ever Fashion In Detroit.  I must say, I was hesitant at first because I was so booked and I only had a few days notice.

For those of you who don’t know, Kevin Christiana was on season four of Project Runway and makes frequent appearances on the Rachel Ray show.  He is now designing his own line called MYNT 1792, a great lifestyle clothing line.  Well, you know….I had to go.  I even arranged for my husband, David,  to attend as a photographer and I would be interviewing Kevin for an article for the Fashion Plate for the Review Magazine.

Well, I had a blast and it was soooo great to be seated front row, watching the fashion shows instead of backstage producing the fashion shows!  Afterward, I did get to interview Kevin Christiana and also Barry Zinn who is also part of the MYNT 1792 team, which explained the name of the other line they are developing called Christiana-Zinn!  What great guys!  Seriously, two very down to earth, humble people and it was a great pleasure to speak with them.  Here is a great picture that my wonderful hubby took.

Keep an eye out for this up and coming designer and I will let you know when the Review Magazine-Fashion Plate article comes out!

I found this on the internet and had to pass it along….ENJOY!

A Pasadena, Texas, woman outdid the rabbit scene in Fatal Attraction by stealing her ex’s pet goldfish, frying them up in a pan, and eating them.

Murderer!

Murderer!

The fight that led up to the non-vegetarian revengefest was apparently over some jewelry that the unnamed man had once given the anonymous fish murderess, and had then taken back. After unsuccessfully confronting her ex, the woman went to his apartment, took the goldfish and brought them home for the most furious fish fry in the history of the world.

By the time the police made it to her place, she had already eaten three of the goldfish, which left four tiny fried fish carcasses sitting on her plate.  She couldn’t have been very hungry, though, after the huge plate of crazy she ate for breakfast.
