Spring/Summer 2011 Fashions

 It is the middle of January and I am already thinking ahead to the great fashions of the coming Spring and Summer. I sit anticipating the arrival of warmer temperatures and the coming thaw. Perhaps that is because I have found a renewed interest in my Wii Fit Plus and want to unveil a new, trim Debra come Spring!   Ahhh, the beauty of goals!

So Girly Girls, as I delve into the new styles coming out; I find myself brimming with excitement at this new trend. I see a returning to the demure and sophisticated look of flowing cottons and brilliant colors that scream femininity and a great relaxing day at the beach. I love the soft materials and patterns reminiscent of days gone by; and of course the stripes and ruffles!

One Hot Cat!

So are you looking for one hot cat?  Well meet Navarro, the cat who was found “marinating” in his owner’s trunk.

Yes, you heard correctly….the owner, Gary Korkuc,  intended to cook Navarro so he had the cat drenched in oil and chili peppers. WHAT?  Are you kidding me?  What moron would do such a thing? 

Ok, back when I was married to the hunter, even I knew that you didn’t drench the fur with marinate!  DUH!  What good would that do?

Not Mel Gibson, Mel Gibbons!

I couldn’t resist this great post about Mel Gibbons.  Haven’t heard of him?  Please Girly Girls, don’t confuse him with Mel Gibson of vulgarity fame.  What can I say, it’s a slow news day in Saginaw, MI!

The Turtle Back Zoo’s  popular gibbon, Mel Gibbons, has been dogged by recent rumors that he is verbally abusive and prone to bad behavior.  Now his West Orange, New Jersey zoo is stepping in to set the record straight.  “He’s never gone on a rant or a rave,” zoo director Dr. Jeremy Goodman said.  Goodman and other zoo officials think the similarity between Gibbons’ name and that of actor Mel Gibson may be behind the mix-up.  Goodman is especially eager to clear Mel Gibbons’ name as he is soon to be shipped off to live with a female gibbon.

“He’s been one of the most popular animals at the zoo,” Goodman added. “He definitely shows off and is definitely an entertainer. He’s a good boy.” 
Calls to Gibbons were not immediately returned.

Well at least that is what Audrey Scott told the 911 operator
 when she called them five times in a hour.  Audrey, from
Alliance,  Ohio reportedly came home a little tipsy
and appearently lonely.  Who hasn’t done that after a night
out on the town?  Lady Antebellum even sings about it on
their hit ”Need You Now“. 

Well I have a little tip for Ms. Audrey…….maybe she should have
shopped at A Girly Girl Boutique and dressed in some stylish clothes,
such as the Brie maxi dress from BB Dakota or Angie rose .  Spend
a night out on the town in this little Gem and a husband will be
marching down the aisle soon after.  Also,  no worry Audrey

So Ali Fedotowsky leaves the show, The Bachelor,  heartbroken and returns to 25 new men?!  Why didn’t  my heartbreaks end that way?

The new season of The Bachelorette starts Monday on ABC and again….I can’t wait.  I love watching this show!  My best friend of many years doesn’t understand why, but…..oh well?  I have examined who I think will be good suitors for Ali, but I want to know who you think she will pick.  If there is one thing us Girly Girls know, it’s men!!

Now I can’t say I think this is the most handsome group of men ever to grace the show, but they seem to have some character.  Plus ABC has kindly given us dedicated viewers a cheet sheet to keep tabs on the suitors will make watching this season all the more fun!  In closing, all I can say is that I think Ali has her work cut out for her!  Good luck in finding that Mr. Right, Ali!

A New Location

Well, needless to say, the last few weeks have been trying!

It turns out the building where we were located was sold and we had to vacate asap!  Not cool!

My entire store is now located in my livingroom, dining room and basement.  Too bad I can’t turn that into my store!

I believe that there are great things in store for A Girly Girl and we are excited to be moving into a new, grander location within the next two weeks.  I am creating a new atmosphere and a great shopping experience so stay tuned for further announcements.

This Is It, Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson, THIS IS IT

Well, growing up in the 70′s made this Girly Girl a huge Jackson fan and being the disco Queen that I was, Michael Jackson surely was a favorite!  I am a vocalist so I was always singing and dancing to his many hits.  I think I still have a couple of cassettes around!

I watched, well listened to this link for This Is It and I was blown away.  The voice sounds like the Michael from 15-20 years ago….so much so that I had to listen.  It is almost like he never left.

I know some of you have controversial views about MJ, but I really like his music and have for a very long time.  America has truly lost a very important and talented piece of our musical history.  Rest in peace Michael Jackson and my God bless your children!
